Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law and any other applicable laws.

What our 12-month warranty covers

Sunni Scenes warrants that products displaying the "12-Month Warranty" badge are free from manufacturing faults and defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery. If a covered product develops a manufacturing fault within this period, we will, at our election, repair the product, replace it, or refund the purchase price.

Examples of manufacturing faults include: seam or stitching failure under normal use, frame weld or joint failure under normal use within weight ratings, hardware or mechanism failure not caused by misuse, and material defects present at the time of delivery.

What the warranty does not cover

This warranty covers manufacturing faults only. It does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:

  • Misuse, abuse or accident — including standing on chairs or tables, jumping on products, dragging loaded products, or use for purposes other than intended;
  • Exceeding stated weight ratings — each product's maximum weight capacity is listed on its product page and must not be exceeded;
  • Salt water and pool chemical exposure — our products are not designed for use in salt water or chlorinated water. Rinse products with fresh water and dry them fully after beach use;
  • Weather exposure and improper storage — products left outdoors, exposed to prolonged sun, rain or moisture, or stored damp. Products should be stored clean, dry and undercover (inside) when not in use;
  • Mould or mildew resulting from the product being packed away or stored while wet or damp;
  • Normal wear and tear — including gradual fading of printed fabrics from UV exposure, surface scratches, and soiling;
  • Scratching of printed surfaces on tables from hard, sharp or metal objects — we recommend using a mat or rubber-footed items on printed tabletops;
  • Alterations or repairs not authorised by Sunni Scenes;
  • Damage occurring after delivery, including damage in transit arranged by the customer.

Product care requirements

  • Do not exceed the stated maximum weight rating of any product.
  • Set up products on stable, level ground; ensure all legs/frames are fully locked before use.
  • Keep products away from open flames, fire pits and heat sources.
  • Do not use products in salt water or pools. After use at the beach, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry completely.
  • Clean with mild soap and fresh water only — no harsh chemicals, solvents or abrasives.
  • Store products fully dry, in their carry bag where provided, inside and undercover.
  • Chairs and tables are designed for seating/surface use by one person or ordinary items respectively — not as ladders, steps or platforms.
  • Adult supervision is required when products are used by children.

Failure to follow these care requirements may void warranty coverage for the resulting damage (your Australian Consumer Law rights are not affected).

How to make a warranty claim

Email hello@sunniscenes.com within a reasonable time of discovering the fault, with:

  • Your full name and order number;
  • A description of the fault; and
  • Clear photos (and video where relevant) showing the fault.

We will assess your claim and respond within 5 business days. Where a claim is accepted, we will cover the reasonable cost of return shipping for the faulty item (or may not require return of the item). Where a product is assessed and no fault is found, or the damage is excluded from cover, return shipping and assessment costs may be payable by you.
